Got a Mac!

So I got a Mac Pro for my birthday this year! Got it early... and I've been using it. Just wanted to see what all the fuss on Macs was about... *grin* So does this mean I'll have to eventually get an iphone, too? When will we be able to use iphones with Verizon?

You know what else is funny? The other day my family surprised me with singing "happy birthday" to me after lunch. I thought it was a belated birthday celebration for Sierra! Things kind of just revolve around Sierra now that she is around. It's hard to imagine life without her.

She turned one on Nov 14 and already she is growing and developing so fast! I look at the video post of her taking tentative steps and smile. Now, she is walking all over the place.. running even! My absolute favorite is when I come home from work, she'll hear the door open and run to me with her arms open. Then I get a very tight hug and a very wet kiss =)

She is also able to understand quite a few things now and is able to speak her mind. We think she will be a talker. Vocab right now is a mixture of some Mandarin, English, and Sierra talk. Words she knows:

"neh neh" - means milk, she wants to be nursed (usually says this in the middle of the night... trying to wean the night time feeds)

"mum mum" - she'll point to her mouth or object she wants to eat

"dog" - she loves dogs! both real and stuffed ones... she'll call anything that remotely looks like a dog "dog" like her stuffed lamb

"ball" - refers to both balls and balloons. she loves balloons!

"baby" - says this with glee anytime she sees another baby or kid her size.. or even pictures of babies. Today we went to Babies R Us and there were pictures everywhere so she kept pointing and yelling "baby!"

"eeee" - will stick her pointer out and do the ET thing with you. my mom was trying to teach her to say "one" in chinese by sticking one finger up. but i was doing the ET thing with her before that so i think she is associating it with the ET thing.

"yao yao yao" - actually one of the first words she learned... means swing or anything that swings. she loves to swing. she refers to her carseat as this too since it does kind of rock back and forth.

"pong pong" - bath time. yesterday we went swimming and she said this when she saw the pool. so i think it means any body of water now...

"dada" - we think she thinks she is referring to pictures. i was trying to associate joe with this term by pointing to joe in pictures, but now sierra will point at any picture and say "dada"

"mama" - not sure if she is calling me... sometimes i think yes. sometimes i think she is trying to say "mum mum" for eating...

"aieeya!" - will say this when she hurts herself and hit the object that hurts her...

"budda budda" - she will twirl her hands and say this when you sing "twinkle twinkle". this is her attempt at korean because the song in korean starts out "banjak banjak". joe's mom sang this to her a lot when she was visiting...

That's it so far... I think... but learning new sounds all the time!

See.. started the post about me but ended with Sierra! she has taken over our lives =)

Welcome to the mac side. You are of course now completely assimilated. Resistance is futile.
